Who We Look For

The Student Exchange Program is dedicated to bringing top students from universities across China to Harvard and engaging them in a series of events and activities. We are looking for students who are not only accomplished scholars and innovative, insightful thinkers, but are also outstanding leaders and citizens of the world. The student delegates are ultimately a group of individuals with diverse backgrounds and interests who are able to contribute exceptionally to the daily interactions and discussions with Harvard professors, students and community at large.

We look for creativity and a level of maturity in the essays. The application and the essays serve as a platform for us to get to know the applicants on a personal level. We would like to know what has made you become who you are; what your personalities, interests and hobbies are; why you are interested in the particular theme and various aspects of the exchange program, etc. Please be concrete and original in your essays. We take into consideration the applicants’ backgrounds and experiences when evaluating each application accordingly.
